The Winton Poll Merino Stud, Flock Number 1564 was founded in 2014 and registered in May 2017 with the purchase of 2 rams and 80 ewes from Wurrock Poll Merino Flock Number 1439, 2 rams from DT Kenilworth Poll Merino Stud Flock Number 1547 and 1 ram from Alfoxton Poll Merino Stud Flock Number 1333.

Additional semen sires of note have been from Alfoxton, Moorundie Park, Glenlea Park, Roseville Park and Yalgoo.

Winton Poll Stud was established to allow for more modern breeding choices to be made in relation to increasing production performance. Leading genetics have been used from across Australia, sires with top performing ASBV's and show floor success have influenced selection within the Winton Poll Stud.

The Winton Poll Stud genetics have been kept separate from the Winton Saxon Merino Stud.
